Horseback Riding Lessons at

Rogers Equestrian Center will provide riders with the knowledge and skills essential for maximizing the client as well as the horse. We offer a variety of teaching techniques to best fit the individual rider while ensuring an enjoyable experience. Horseback riding can seem like work at times, but it also offers rewarding experiences, teaches responsibility, and boosts self-esteem.
We offer complete training programs for Saddle seat, Hunt seat, Western and Driving for all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced advanced show rider, we have something for everyone. We truly enjoy guiding beginner riders through the process of training and preparing for the exciting world of showing horses, starting at the lesson tournament level and advancing up to national show ring competitions. Programs are tailored to meet individual needs, whether you are a serious competitor or a recreational rider looking to improve your skills. Age is not a limitation because it is never too early or too late to make your dream of riding a horse come true. |

Facility and Attire
Lessons run year-round in our indoor riding arena. Safety is of up most importance and proper attire is required to prevent injury. It is recommended to wear long pants and hard-soled shoes/boots for your first few sessions, and safety helmets will be provided. Additional information regarding attire will be discussed further in person. |
General Guidelines for Weather
Weather: REC retains the right to cancel lessons at any time due to weather if we feel it is unsafe for our horses and riders, or may be unsafe to travel. If there is inclement weather, we will do our best to contact you at least 1 hour prior to your scheduled lesson to inform you of cancellation.

Summer: Above 95° and/or extreme humidity or Thunder and Lightening audible/visible from the stables.
Winter: Below 20° and/or snow/ice on roads create unsafe travel.
Wind: Strong winds that create an unsafe environment for riding.
Payment: All Lessons must be pre-paid, or paid at the time of the lesson. Lessons accumulated and billed will be charged a 5% late fee per lesson.
REC accepts Cash, Checks (Made payable to Rogers Equestrian Center), Venmo, or Paypal as methods of payment only.
Non-Refundable Payment in full for One-Time only lessons is required at the time of scheduling.
Past-due lesson balances must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment, or your lesson time may be forfeited.
Equipment: As with any sport, proper equipment is imperative for the safety of the participant. REC Requires that all students provide their own ASTM/SEI Certified Riding Helmet, Paddock Boots, and Riding Gloves when enrolled on a weekly basis. Links and information about these items are available on our website. We do understand that equipment may not be able to be obtained prior to the first scheduled appointment, and do have protective headgear available for the initial lesson.

Discovery sessions allow the student to spend time with a horse while learning

Tiny Tot Lessons $30
Tiny Tot Lessons are a great way to get your young horse lover in the saddle.
These sessions are for students ages 4-6 and last 20 minutes.

Pop-up Lessons $60
The Pop-up lesson is designed for riders that can not come weekly to ride or drive,
but can come once a month or as their schedule allows.

What should I wear?
Riders are not required to purchase any specialized equipment or clothing in the first 3 months. However required all riders to wear hard soled shoes or boots along with long pants. Rogers Equestrian Center will provide Helmets.
What horse will I get to ride?
Rogers Equestrian Center will select the horse you will ride to meet your needs. We have lots of different lesson horses that can teach you to become an amazing rider or driver.
Who will teach me?
At our farm all riding and driving lessons are taught by one of our two instructors, Alyssa or Mike.
Alyssa teaches all riders at the beginner through show level.
Mike teaches all our drivers and helps assist with our show riders.

How much should I ride?
Each rider has different needs. We believe the more you ride the better you can be! We are open 7 days a week for that reason and love to teach you as much as you want to come.
